Community, Conservation, & Preservation

Our Purpose
Since its formation in 1950, the Jamestown Shores Association has worked tirelessly to protect and enhance Conanicut Island’s most populated region. We exist to enhance the lifestyle of our residents by helping to foster a neighborhood that embraces, empowers, and connects our neighbors while becoming involved in issues affecting the beauty, environmental health, and the uniqueness of the area. JSA strives to promote sense of community, conservation, and preservation.
Community
Finding ways to support the neighborhood and promote community among the residents of the Shores, including seasonal social events like our annual summer picnic at Head’s Beach and holiday potluck. We also conduct monthly meetings to provide a forum where members can bring up concerns or ideas for improvement.
Conservation & Preservation
Ensuring that the Shores remains an amazing area to live for our future generations includes maintaining a clean and adequate water supply and ensuring access to enjoy the waters of Narragansett Bay.

Protecting the Shores area from damage and maintaining it’s existence while minimizing human impact, including flooding and drainage, traffic and parking, and beach maintenance.
Why you should join
Dramatic changes are taking place within the Jamestown Shores. Once an area of scattered summer cottages, rural in nature, is now a densely populated district. Wetlands and our water recharge areas are rapidly disappearing. Our natural resources must be protected!

Your help is needed to keep the Shores area a safe, friendly, and healthy place to live.
